The ability to communicate effectively with superiors, colleagues, and staff is essential, no matter what industry you work in. Workers in the digital age must know how to effectively convey and receive messages in person as well as via phone, email, and social media. Good communication skills will help you get hired, land promotions, and be a success throughout your career. In the workplace, communication with colleagues, staffs, or even superiors is an opportunity. 1. Define who you are talking to

First of all, you need to know who you are talking to use appropriate language. Indeed, If you are talking to your friend, your language and accent may be different from communicating with the elderly.

 

Moreover, personality and emotional temperament which are key elements can affect directly how you communicate with someone. For instance, you cannot discuss or even mention the topics of politics with a first-met person enthusiastically. This makes people look down on you because of low emotional and situational control.

 

2. Control your body language

Body language is one of the most important parts to present your personality at any given moment. In contrast, it also shows your emotion and feeling. However, illustrating too much feeling may cause a detrimental impact on your success.

And when you spend time listening, they will appreciate you by hearing their shares. One more thing, Listening doesn’t mean stay quiet. If you are in the conversation but there is no interaction from you, that is definitely frustrated communication

Asking a question is not difficult, but how to question effectively is another matter.

Open-ended questions are frequently asked for starting a new topic, helping both listeners and speakers think. This question is often used when we need to know the views or opinions of partners about the problem.
